On Repeat: JoJo - “Like This”, “High Heels” And “Reckless”

Last year JoJo dropped her highly anticipated third album "Mad Love" which was her first album in 10 years after her previous album "The High Road" and her first album released on Atlantic Records. The album doesn`t disappoint at all as it sees her coming into her own beautifully displaying maturity sonically and lyrically, this album marks a turning point in her career: "This album is more for my fans than anything else, who have stuck with me through times where I couldn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel, or I thought, Who am I if I'm not doing this? They really gave me the strength to continue and to stay in a positive mind space."


Here are some of my favorite tracks off the album that I keep on repeat.

“Like This” is a slick-sultry and sexy R&B number that finds her describing her abilities in bed, as she invites a guy for some hot sex "Can't keep my name off your lips, just like your eyes don't move off my hips. You're the thunder, thunder, crackin' like a whip. Don't resist, just admit I got your blood flow pumpin' like this. So spaced out, floatin' on the mids, ready, set, go all the way, don't quit. Just come get it, I know you with it."
“High Heels” is a rock-guitar driven number that talks about walking away from relationship where she was cheated on and JoJo intends to come out on top because she is worthy of more and he won`t find anything close to perfection that she is. She belts out "I put my high heels on, walk right out the door, best believe, I'mma leave, don't need you no more. Put my black dress on, boy, you've done me wrong, leave the keys, burn the sheets and then move along. I'mma look damn good for all of your friends, don't cry when you see me again..." 

“Reckless” is a very personal song as she gets candid about being regretful of taking advantage of a previous boyfriend’s inexperience and heart. She got him drunk for his first time and took his virginity, and played with his emotions after the fact until she finally broke it off and she realises the mess she had made of his life as she has been there before: "I was young and I was up to no good, up to no good, I loved you in the only way that I could, way that I could. I was reckless with your heart, I took for granted the gift that you handed. Reckless with your heart, wish I could change it. Sorry I made it, all about me...."
I highly recommend y`all add this album to your music collection.
