Today we celebrate one of the most groundbreaking and creative individuals on the face of this world, Missy Elliott who has breaking new ground ever since she stepped into the music industry, delivering 5 platinum albums and one double platinum album and shares the title for the most won Grammys by a female rapper, 5.

 

Apart from being an artist herself, she is a very talented producer and songwriter who has written or produced records for the likes of Aaliyah, 702, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Monica, Fantasia, Mary J Blige, SWV, Mya, Jazmine Sullivan, Keyshia Cole and many others.
Missy I have admired you as a strong, smart, creative, passionate, driven and dare I say, independent woman who follows the drum of her heart, never allowing people to box you up and limit your creative expression. Which why I love you babe, you represent everything I am and also desire to as I grow up as you live your truth so boldly and loudly and push yourself to live as the best version of yourself.
And I can honestly say I gained a big sister in you as you have allowed yourself to be extremely transparent with a few of us,  we got to know and love the woman behind the music Melissa. Who the sweetest and most humble individual who I am blessed to know and have in my life and your advice is golden and rich - lifts me and many others to a higher understanding of ourselves and knowing that we can achieve anything we put our minds on and go all the way in.
