Missy Elliott Breaks The Internet With "Iconology" EP

Missy Elliott set the charts on fire with the release of her debut EP "Iconology" which has been sitting beautifully at the top of the Hip-Hop charts, which speaks volumes as this is her first project since her 2005 album "Cookbook".


The EP features 5 which including her current single "Throw It Back" which is a club banger with so many weird and creative elements within the production that she manages to ride with her smooth yet colourful delivery and the visual is out of this world. She had a range of different looks and her creativity was on full display from start to finish, further showcasing why she deserved the Vanguard award. She always manages to take her music to the next level with her visuals and draw us into her world of crazy and I love how fearless and bold she is in her craft.

"Cool Off" follows it up perfectly as it builds off the energy and doubles the tempo with a fast, spare beat, mindless fun with Missy, showing she`s the life of the party. She slows things down with "DripDemeanor"  which a sultry number with sharp and direct lyrics about her sex game which is on fire as she got her beau hot and bothered "He just wanna get me hot, he just tryna get my twat. He wanna taste of my goodies, he say it taste like butterscotch". Sum1 provides some solid and soulful vocals throughout the track, love the rawness in her voice.

She closes the short set with two version of  "Why I Still Love You" that reminds you that Elliott can also sing herself, as she often shifted between rapping and crooning on her albums. This old-school soul ballad sees her singing about loving her man even through he treats her badly and cheats on her but at the end of the track she empowers herself with leaving him and focusing on herself  "You can go 'head, I'm gon' be alright".

This was a short but extremely impressive EP that will without beautifully usher an album as she has so much to offer and her creativity is out of this world and her energy is so missed and needed more than ever. I highly recommend y`all to hit up your nearest music outlet and cop this shit.
