After featuring on Lupe Fiasco’s second album "Food & Liquor", Nikki Jean went on to release her debut album "Pennies In A Jar" in which sadly went unnoticed by mainstream audience but was well received by music blogs around. The Philadelphia based songstress is now gearing up to releasing her second album "Little.Yellow.Different" later this year but before that she plan on releasing a new EP and has released the lead single called “Summertime Girl.”
She co-produced the soothing, breezy track with Double-O, it features a very smooth, seductive piano and guitar driven production, she lays down some sultry vocals with sweet harmonies: “I’ll be you summertime girl, be that cool breeze when it’s hot outside. Love you like you’re all I got tonight, love you like a cool breeze,” she sings about lounging with her lover during the summertime.
